Kaley & David

North 44 | Toronto Wedding

Kaley is definitely bold. I only got a sneak peak of her during their engagement session when they were telling me some of their stories of where they traveled. Especially when they said their honeymoon was going to be in Africa, camping out next to the wildlife there. When I showed up and she had red on her wedding dress, I shouldn't have been too surprised. A bold choice for this bold girl. David, a man with solid taste, was decked out from top to bottom in Hugo Boss. He looked just as stellar and I tried my best to hide how badly I wanted to steal his suit! They chose to do a backyard wedding but not any typical backyard. It was Kaley's aunt's who happens to live at the Dare estates in Kitchener. I've been to wedding venues that haven't had this much space or looked this good! It was a beautiful fall day and there were tears of pure joy from the minute I started. David's vows were perfectly crafted and he didn't leave many dry eyes while he professed his love for Kaley. Thankfully, I had my camera to my face to shield my glassy eyes.
He also heard a piece of advice from a friend that he insisted on. He was told to, at every venue and after every milestone, take 5 minutes. Just the two of them to reflect and soak it all in. This is brilliant and I will be urging all of my couples to do it. We all here the stories of how fast wedding days go by

The food at this wedding was unreal! Some of the best dishes I've tried/had in my entire life! David is a chef at the reception location, North 44 and I knew it was going to be good but it shattered my expectations. As good as the food was, the absolute highlight for me came from David's mom. She is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met and at the end of the night, she said, "Thank you for doing such a great job and for being a part of our lives", I melted. I won't ever forget that goodbye.

Grace & Daniel

Queen's Landing | Vintage Hotels Wedding

It was a lazier than normal Friday evening. I had one of those rare Saturdays off and I was sitting in my jogging my pants, about to go into full chill mode by watching a movie. My phone began to ring and when I answered I heard the desperate voice of the wedding planner for the Queen's Landing. She asked me if I was booked on Saturday, you know, tomorrow. I've heard of brides procrastinating before but till the night before? There had to be more to this story. What actually happened was Grace and Daniel's original photographer, a friend and guest at the wedding, couldn't make it across the border. I think it's safe to say that poor Grace was freaking out. I ran up the stairs, threw my wedding clothes into the wash and charged my batteries.

I walked into the suite at the Queen's Landing and met Grace for the first time. Neither of us knew what to expect but after about 5 minutes of conversation and meeting everyone, I totally forgot that I booked this wedding not even a full 24 hours before. Both her and Daniel were easy going and were up for anything. They made the whole day so easy to capture and surprisingly stress free. Considering I replaced a friend of theirs, I felt so welcomed by not only them but their entire family. It was such a unique experience getting to know my couple while I was shooting their wedding. There's one reception moment that I will ever forget. This was when Grace's brother took the mic and began his speech. One tear started streaming down his face and he said his sister raised him. How she was the one who guided him through the earlier parts of his life. I can't even begin to do this speech justice in my explanation but it was one of the best speeches I've ever heard at a wedding and he didn't have a word written down. Unpolished, raw and straight from his heart, it was perfect.

Get to know me...

A stunning girl once asked to "hangout someday". My response was, "I'm not really a next time or someday kind of guy". We've been in love for over two years now.

I believe a romantic image should have as much anticipation as the best, slow, romantic kiss.

I think it's true what they say about dogs mirrorring their owners. My two wiener dogs are quirky, make me laugh constantly and when they're not running around at a full sprint, they're curling up next to me, enjoying my body heat. They don't have short legs, other dogs just have long ones.

Being confined to a couch for 4 years has taught me to never take life's subtleties for granted. I'm always moving, smiling and looking for my next adventure.

I believe the groom is entitled to his own pair of designer shoes.

I'm happiest with my camera in hand capturing a sun soaked couple together chasing down the sunset.

-Ty.
